Lock Down

When people ask me about America, I say that Europe and America have actually a lot in common. But there are also some distinct differences. One of those is that Americans never figured out which way they have to install a lock in a door. Europeans are used to have the key teeth facing down while Americans need to insert a key the wrong way, with the teeth facing up. It's like being in bizarro world. Maybe, it's similar to driving on the left or right side. How have keys to be inserted in other places like in Africa, in Asia or in Down-under?
